My name is Elizabeth. I am 48 yrs. old. I’m from Hermiston, Oregon. On Nov 7, 2023, I moved into the Soaring Heights Recovery homes in Keizer OR.
I first started my journey on June 21, 2023, where I entered myself into the Powerhouse Treatment Center in Hermiston to battle my long addiction of meth and alcohol. I graduated from treatment on 9/7/2023. It was 90 days treatment. It wasn’t easy dealing with all the roadblocks that come with completing treatment, but I did it. Because I had to do it for myself and for my son.
Then I moved to Pendleton Oregon to a women’s sober house for 2 months before I came to Keizer Oregon. I had to make the decision to stay in Hermiston with my son or to move away from my stomping grounds and make a better life for me and my son in a different town. So I decided to leave my son in Hermiston with his foster dad. And I moved to Keizer so I can start the 2nd part of my journey in different sober housing where I can bring my son to live with me.
Since I have been here, I accomplished a lot of things that I never thought I would have done if I was still in Hermiston. I completed my anger management class in less than 12 weeks, I got a job, I got my driving license lifted, and I got my housing voucher for section 8. I’m so blessed for Victoria and Bri for letting me live at Robins Nest.
I still have a long journey ahead of me still but I know with God on my side I’m going to be fine. And very soon I will have my son living with me in Salem Oregon.
